This past week at school Colbi competed in Festival of the Minds. This is basically the academic UIL competition and she chose to participate in 1st Grade Math and Creative Writing.
Friday before school we sat down and gave her the talk that not everyone can win, but we were so proud of her for competing. The awards ceremony was that day and we did not want her to be disappointed because there were over 25 people in each event. Well, of course she placed in both! She won 3rd place for Math and 2nd place for Creative Writing. Unfortunately, she was not happy. That was not good enough for her. She wants to WIN! Ummmm....could you say she is quite competitive!?!?!
By the way, I absolutely love summer time. It means lazy days spent on the boat! Here are a few pictures that we took today. The lady on the tube is Nana (Corby's mom). She always loves to go with us.
